Excavation and concreting from one crew
When earthworks and concreting are done by two separate contractors, the gap between them is where problems live. Levels come out wrong, the base isn't compacted to the standard the slab needs, and when something goes wrong later each contractor points at the other.
We do both. The people digging the site are the people pouring the concrete, working to the levels the finished job actually requires. It's faster, there's one point of contact, and there's one company responsible for the result from the first bucket of dirt to the final trowel.
- One contractor for earthworks and concrete
- Levels set for the finished job, not guessed
- Base compacted to the standard the slab needs
- Fewer delays between stages
Working on Hobart's sloping blocks
Sloping sites need thought before machinery turns up: where the cut material goes, whether fill needs to be brought in or carted off, how the site drains during and after the work, and what access the trucks realistically have.
We plan cut and fill so you're not paying to cart away material you could reuse on site, bench the site to give a workable platform, and make sure surface water is directed away from buildings rather than pooling against a new slab.
What we take on
Site preparation for driveways, sheds, garages and house slabs is our main excavation work, but we also handle general earthworks that go alongside a concreting job — trenching, levelling for landscaping, removing unsuitable material and preparing base for paths and patios.
Access on Tasmanian residential blocks varies enormously, so we match machinery to the site rather than the other way around, and we protect what's staying — driveways, fences, gardens and services.

Licensed, insured and experienced
Earthworks is where the biggest risks on a residential site sit, so it pays to use someone properly set up. We're fully licensed and insured, our crew has over 50 years of combined experience, and we're straight with you about what a site needs before we start rather than after.
